Operations Manager – Warehouse & Logistics
Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent
Company Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum
Full-Time, Permanent (Mon-Fri, 08:30 – 17:30)

Role Overview
We are seeking a hands‑on Operations Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day running of a busy warehouse and distribution facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient operations across goods‑in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch, while maintaining high standards of health & safety, stock accuracy, and site security.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
* Manage daily warehouse activities including goods‑in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
* Ensure accurate and timely order fulfilment to meet customer expectations
* Optimise warehouse layout and processes to improve efficiency and space utilisation
* Stock Control
* Maintain accurate stock levels through cycle counts and stocktakes
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies
* Drive continuous improvement in stock management processes
Health & Safety
* Ensure full compliance with H&S legislation and company policies
* Conduct risk assessments, audits, and site inspections
* Promote a strong safety culture across the team
Site Security
* Act as key holder, responsible for opening and closing the site
* Ensure security of premises, stock, and company assets
* Respond to alarm callouts where required
Team Leadership
* Supervise, motivate, and develop warehouse staff
* Provide training, guidance, and performance management
* Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
* Support and maintain ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
* Ensure compliance with relevant UK healthcare standards
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practice
Requirements
* Proven experience in warehouse or operations management
* Strong understanding of warehouse processes, logistics, and stock control
* Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
* Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skillsIT literate with experience using ERP or warehouse systems
* Must live within 30 minutes of Tunbridge Wells (key holder requirement)
Desirable
* Experience within a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals)
* Familiarity with ISO standards
* First Aid or Fire Marshal certification
* Degree or equivalent qualification
* Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently
