Band 3 – Salary Range £29,103 – £31,409 per annum (Distant Islands Allowance £2,578 pro rata per annum)

Job Overview
An exciting opportunity to join the Finance Department at NHS Shetland as a Finance Assistant. You will work in a rotational role across key finance functions, including Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Cashiering and related duties. The role offers hands‑on experience across multiple aspects of finance while contributing directly to the effective delivery of healthcare services in Shetland.

Key Responsibilities
You will be involved in essential financial processes within the Finance Department, including operating in Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, and Cashiering, and supporting the effective delivery of healthcare services.
Qualifications & Requirements
Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made. A structured developmental pathway may be available for the right candidate.
