Haeata Community Campus is seeking a caring and enthusiastic kaiako to support our junior ākonga in a nurturing sensory space. This role will provide a calm environment where ākonga can regulate, settle, and transition smoothly into their learning day and into their puna.

We need a kaiako that can cope with high stressful situations

Key responsibilities

* Provide a calm, small-group space for junior ākonga needing extra support Lead engaging activities that support social-emotional wellbeing
* Facilitate daily check-ins and whakatau wairua
* Support smooth transitions into learning spaces
* Work collaboratively with kaiako and whānau

Our successful applicant will

* Able to process complex and diverse needs for our ākonga and whānau.
* Build strong relationships with ākonga, whānau, and kaimahi
* Be confident teaching across the Year 1–4 curriculum
* Use positive behaviour strategies to maintain a calm environment
* Work collaboratively in shared learning spaces

Haeata Community Campus is a Year 1–13 urban area school located in Christchurch East.

Please note: This position requires applicants to have teaching experience within New Zealand and to hold New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a current New Zealand work visa.
