Are you an experience perioperative practitioner with a passion for education and staff development?
Our busy and supportive Theatre Practice Education Team is looking for a motivated Operating Department Practitioner or Nurse to join us as a band 6 Clinical Educator.
In this role you will maintain a credible clinical presence, supporting the learning, supervision, and professional development of junior staff. You will work closely with the Theatre Practice Education Team to deliver a range of training programmes, including inductions, orientation, and ongoing development for new starters, apprentices, students and qualified practitioners.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and support the delivery of safe evidence based perioperative care.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in recruitment events, open days, and public engagement activities, inclusive of evenings and weekends, helping to showcase our service and inspire future practitioners.
We are looking for someone who is collaborative, and committed to supporting others to reach their full potential while maintaining high standards of clinical practice.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the delivery and coordination of training for students, apprentices and qualified practitioners across the department, as per directly delegated by Education Lead and Theatres Practice Educators
To participate in recruitment, open days and public engagement events, in representation of the Theatres Practice Education Team and of the department
To act as link member between the Theatres Practice Education Team and theatre staff of all roles, including (but not limited to) the organisation of education mornings
To develop own skills and knowledge in the role of facilitating education initiatives and stewarding learners across all perioperative areas

RGN/ODP – proven clinical experience at Band 5 in the peri operative environment (scrub, anaesthetic or recovery)
Practice Assessor/Supervisor or SSSA equivalent qualification
Evidence of continuing professional development
