Clinical Audit is at the forefront of our dedication to improving services and making us a more efficient organisation. The Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Team plays a key role in ensuring that we offer the very best standards of care to our patients by supporting Clinical Teams in measurement of clinical practice against standards through both national and local audit activity as outline in the Trust Forward Measurement Programme. The Clinical Audit Team manages the Trust NICE guidance & Quality Standards distribution and reporting process along with NCEPOD study participation and completion. The team also provides support to the Quality Improvement team and participates in Quality improvement initiatives as well as other functions to support the Quality and Safety Team as required.


Main duties of the job

We are looking for a driven individual to join our busy Clinical Audit & Effectiveness to assist with the delivery of the Trust Clinical Effectiveness Strategy, who has an aptitude for quality and service improvement. Taking responsibility for your own directorates and work streams, you will work within an established structure, supporting the development and delivery of the clinical effectiveness process. Working closely with clinicians and managers at all levels this role will include the development and use of measurement tools and systems to provide assurance that standards both local and national are being met, lessons learnt captured and shared and where indicated improvements required identified to support a high level of service delivery.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Utilising your effective communication and excellent organisational skills; you will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular EXCEL. You will be able to plan, collect, input and analyse clinical data to produce reports and presentations for discussion at Trust Clinical Effectiveness meetings and other appropriate forums where findings are shared, lessons learnt captured, recommendations and actions agreed. You will be a highly motivated individual, possessing a positive attitude, flexible with the ability to work on own initiative as well as be supportive to fellow team members in order to ensure both individual and team objectives are met. You will be a confident individual with excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to understand, absorb and comply with detailed procedures and demonstrate these to others.

Essential


Essential criteria

* Educated to ‘A’ level in relevant subject (i.e. maths, IT, English) or relevant NHS experience
* European Computer Driving Licence ECDL
* Computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
* Using simple statistics, data analysis and interpretation and manipulation of data
* Data entry, text processing, storage of data, and updating databases
* Creating statistical reports, documents, charts and presentations
* Arranging facilitating and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings


Desirable criteria

* Experience of NHS and clinical terminology / navigation of Clinical Documentation
* Previous Clinical Audit / Measurement Experience
