Opportunity
Reporting to the Civil Configuration Team Lead, you will control the configuration on the Civil Works scope. Ensure proposed and completed modifications comply with project processes and license condition requirements, and align with overall configuration across ~800 packages and ~80,000 deliverables.
This role demands exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. You will maintain adherence to procedures and safety rules, and provide critical input to substantiation of the safety case in the delivery of a safe, operable nuclear power station.
Key Responsibilities
As a Configuration Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining and managing the site's configuration, ensuring everything aligns with the established management processes for the designated area and acting as the go-to person for configuration-related queries to streamline the construction phase.
* Keep the List of Applicable Documents up to date for your assigned area.
* Process construction change requests to ensure sequential updates of the configuration.
* Manage the site cascade of the design change process into the construction configuration.
* Serve as the primary contact for your area on behalf of the project during the construction phase.
* Run data checks across your scope, investigate discrepancies with numerous project stakeholders, lead the appropriate resolution of each topic and track implementation routes to establish a compliant position.
* Manage interfaces between work packages on permanent works to ensure smooth coordination.
* Identify and develop opportunities to streamline configuration management processes and procedures on the Civil Works scope and wider project as necessary.
Who you are
* A degree/HNC/HND in a relevant science or engineering field, or a strong technical background.
* Experience managing engineering documentation like Redline Drawings and Work Pack management.
* Knowledge of Configuration and Nuclear Power Plant standards.
* Familiarity with change management processes and requests.
* Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
* Strong communication skills, able to clearly present discrepancies found to wide-reaching MDT members for resolution.
* Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
* Strong numerical and analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
* HPC context and understanding is desirable.
