Psychology Graduate – KS2 Learning Support Assistant
Role Overview
1. Location: Liverpool
2. Contract: Full‑time
3. Phase: KS2
Are you a Psychology Graduate with a strong interest in early child development? Are you looking to gain hands‑on experience supporting young children’s learning, emotional wellbeing, and social development in an KS2 setting?
Milk Education is recruiting Psychology Graduates to work as KS2 Learning Support Assistants in mainstream primary schools across Liverpool. This role is ideal for graduates considering future careers in Educational Psychology, Child Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, or Occupational Therapy.
You will work closely with KS2 practitioners, class teachers, and SENCOs to support children during this vital stage of development.
Key Responsibilities
4. Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to children in Nursery or Reception
5. Support pupils with additional needs, including early developmental delays, SEND, SEMH, and speech & language needs
6. Assist children with emotional regulation, social skills, and daily routines
7. Encourage engagement through play‑based and structured learning activities
8. Support the delivery of phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and fine motor activities
9. Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence
10. Observe, monitor, and record progress in line with the EYFS Framework
11. Work collaboratively with teachers, EYFS staff, and the SENCO
12. Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
13. A degree in Psychology or a related subject (essential)
14. A strong interest in early years development and child psychology
15. Experience working with children (nurseries, schools, clubs, or care settings) – desirable but not essential
16. A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
17. Strong communication and observation skills
18. Commitment to providing consistent, reliable support
