About the role
Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to reduce the environmental impact of film and TV production? We are looking for a Power Specialist to help productions transition away from diesel generators toward greener power solutions.
In this role, you will collaborate with key teams, including locations, unit, and electrical departments to assess power needs, develop efficient energy plans and implement alternative power sources. You’ll also stay up to date with the latest technology, manage our Sustainable Power database, and build relationships with suppliers.
Key responsibilities
* Work with production teams to design and implement sustainable power plans for studios and on-location shoots.
* Stay informed about new clean energy technologies and maintain strong relationships with power suppliers.
* Assess electrical loads and recommend the best energy solutions for each project.
* Oversee setup, monitoring, and management of battery and distribution systems.
* Track and analyse power usage data to identify long-term sustainability trends.
* Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and industry standards.
* Maintain accurate records of power setups and equipment usage across multiple productions.
What we’re looking for
Essential skills & experience:
* Strong verbal and written communication skills - you’ll be advising multiple teams.
* Ability to build relationships and engage in productive discussions with stakeholders.
* Technical problem-solving skills and a good understanding of power distribution.
* Background in setting up temporary power for film/TV, festivals or other events.
* Data analysis skills to track energy usage and trends.
* Background in electrical systems or a related technical field.
* Familiarity with generator operations and power management plans.
Preferred (but not essential):
* Experience working in film/TV production or live events.
* A strong interest in sustainability and practical solutions for greener energy use.
Additional requirements:
Valid UK driver’s license (as travel to different production sites is required).
