The Health & Disability Team manages several services and digital transformation projects which support some of DWP�s most vulnerable customers.�
These services include Personal Independence Payment; Health Assessment Service; Access to Work; Disability Living Allowance for Children.
We are looking for Lead Solution Architects�to lead the architectural standards and patterns within Health and Disability.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) supports over 20 million people and is responsible for over 730 million benefit payments each year totalling � billion.�
The Health & Disability Team manages a number of assets which support some of DWP�s most vulnerable customers.�
Key digital assets include Personal Independence Payment; Employment Support Allowance; Access to Work. In addition, the team manage several digital projects that are transforming services for citizens and DWP agents.

Job description
Your work will cover a number of teams and you will work alongside the Lead Product Manager to design the technical makeup of the programme�s vision.
You will work closely with other Lead Architects in Health and Disability as part of the HTP (Health Transformation Programme).
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will drive the technical design innovation and guide teams to making it a reality.�
You will help to coach and mentor engineering team members and articulate to outside stakeholders what it is we are delivering.
Your roles and responsibilities for this role include, but are not restricted to the following:
1. Deliver the technical and architecture design elements of services�
2. Work with engineering teams, and other Digital stakeholders, to create VFM (Value for Money) solution designs�
3. Ensure technical quality and adherence of solution designs to the DWP Digital Blueprint, Enterprise Architecture and Product Roadmaps�
4. Identify, capture, share, iterate, and implement architecture patterns�
5. Drive resolution of technical debt, to reduce the ongoing cost of DWP IT services.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. Salary Information
Pay for this role is from �69,869 to �89,995.
The maximum salary for the grade is �77,740, however a Digital Allowance of up to �12,255 per annum is available for exceptional candidates, based on our assessment of your skills and experience.
Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.
Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.
Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.
