They are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to join their team on a full-time maternity contract basis. Job Overview Nursery Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their Montessori nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care and education, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children Implement and maintain Montessori principles and practices throughout the nursery Manage and supervise a team of nursery practitioners, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including Ofsted requirements, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of care and education Monitor and evaluate the quality of childcare and education provided, making improvements where necessary Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels effectively Maintain accurate records and documentation, including children's progress reports and staff performance evaluations Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and support for children's needs Plan and oversee the implementation of age-appropriate activities and learning experiences Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to ensure consistent high-quality care and education Manage admissions, waiting lists, and occupancy levels to optimize the nursery's capacity Handle complaints and concerns from parents or staff in a professional and timely manner Ensure the nursery environment is well-maintained, clean, and safe for children and staff Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in early years education and Montessori methodology Qualifications and Requirements Montessori Diploma or equivalent qualification in early years education 3-10 years of experience in a nursery setting, with at least 2 years in a management role Thorough understanding and practical application of Montessori principles and practices Excellent knowledge of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework and Ofsted requirements Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff Proficiency in using technology for record-keeping, reporting, and communication First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment) Enhanced DBS check Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete within the first month of employment IND2
