Job Description
Job Title: Engineering Technician
Location: Horsham
Shift: Monday - Friday (6am-2:15pm & 2pm-10:15pm rotating)
Position Summary:
Based at our Horsham site, this role supports production, including serialization & commercial equipment, as well as other areas such as the Warehouse, with equipment breakdowns and overtime. The role focuses on minimizing downtime by adhering to GMP and GEP, following SOPs, managing own actions and time, and performing planned maintenance within the PPM schedule. The technician will identify preventative maintenance needs, participate in training for technical and personal development, and work flexibly across shifts, including nights and weekends as required.
Responsibilities:
* Continuously improve packaging, serialization, commercial equipment, and packaging operations by analyzing process metrics and identifying opportunities for reduction of variation and process optimization.
* Follow GMP and GEP standards and SOPs.
* Adhere to planned maintenance schedules, identify and address preventative maintenance needs.
* Collaborate with team members and leaders, participate in meetings, and provide constructive input.
* Engage in ongoing technical and personal development, train others as needed.
* Manage and complete assigned work, primarily on double day shifts, with flexibility for other shifts as needed.
* Deliver projects, including new equipment installation, development, improvement, and validation support.
* Coordinate with internal customers and machine suppliers to resolve issues, request visits, and ensure safety procedures are followed.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3, HND, or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; 17th or 18th edition wiring regulations.
* Ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose practical solutions; experience in continuous improvement within process industries.
* Knowledge of Engineering Standards and experience with CI tools like 5S, Kaizen.
* Willingness to travel as required.
