Why this job matters
In this Customer Engineer role you'll maintain and support our contract with British Airways (IAG) Data & Voice network services at Heathrow.
You'll be part of a team of 20 engineers at Heathrow Airport with diverse skills; your primary role will be responding to incidents such as voice telephone faults on Cisco phones.
On-site daily at Heathrow (08.00 - 16.00), with occasional tasks at London City, Gatwick airports, and data centers across London. The role involves varied daily challenges, technical hands-on work, and occasional out-of-hours work with paid overtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Preventive maintenance checks.
* Staging new network equipment on Juniper and Cisco switches.
* Cisco and Juniper system maintenance.
* Network patching.
* Assist with fault-finding.
* Stock Control and Asset Management.
* Opportunity to develop & qualify for CCST & CCNA certifications.
Skills and experience you'll have
* Ability to explain issues/solutions to non-technical customers.
* Logical problem-solving skills.
* Willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
* Strong self-organization and time management.
* Desirable: prior experience with IT Networks and telephony solutions.
* UK Manual driver's license.
* 5-year checkable work history (critical for Airside access).
* Ability to pass a criminal record check.
