Job Title: IT Specialist

Purpose of the Role
As part of the IT Site Services team you will be working across a broad range of technologies and liaising with multiple areas of the business to support our environment. Technical Service will be your passion with hunger for learning and personal development. As IT Site Services, you will be supporting your colleagues in delivering exemplary service ownership and management of projects, priority incidents and problem records. You will be responsible for provision of specialist technical support, control and proactive maintenance across the End User environment. Providing "hands on" on-site technical support and guidance to colleagues. Ensuring the delivery of service meets availability/usability requirements both for the current and future needs of the business and our customers. You will need to follow approved processes including incident management and request fulfilment to ensure a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities To provide on-site 2nd line technical support and administration of Pilgrims' four legacy business sectors
To act as ambassadors for the IT department - providing a professional and efficient service to colleagues always.
Delivery of user education/guidance on technology to colleagues
To act as point of contact on technical issues for IT through incident resolution.
Participation and engagement in Projects/Service improvements.
Identification, ownership and implementation of proactive maintenance plans including essential upgrades and software patches.
Monitor and review service performance at a component level e.g. Production of reports including recommendations for risk mitigation.
3rd party/vendor liaison with respect to technical build, support and maintenance.
Meet levels of service in line with published/agreed SLA's.
Adherence to all Pilgrim's processes including: -
Raising, reviewing and approval of Change Controls.
Identify, investigate, update and resolve problem records.
Ensuring the configuration management database is maintained.
Active handover to support engagement ensuring that technology implemented is supportable and maintainable.
Ticket handling, updating, referral and closure of tickets
Creation, development, deployment and resolution for BCR (Business Change Request) tickets
Identify and drive service and efficiency improvements.
To ensure all supporting documentation is maintained in line with technology improvements and maintenance activities.
Maintain awareness of current developments including production of associated product life-cycles and roadmaps.
Able to work unsocial hours when required which may include short durations away from home e.g. Exec Events
Skills & Experience Required In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you will have:
Essential 3 years+ experience of delivering, maintaining and supporting on-site/field based an expanding complex Factory production environment
Hands on support, delivery and build experience with a number of the following technology areas with deep/expert knowledge of the following skillsets:- Essential:
Supporting onsite engineering teams, production teams and forming a strong relationship with Site General Managers and their Leadership teams
Supporting Factory and Production
Supporting Mobile Devices
Supporting Printing solutions/hardware
Supporting Audio-Visual Equipment
Network Cabling
VOIP Telephony Config and Support
Broadband ordering process for Farm sites
3 Years+ experience of working in a technical environment delivering 2nd line support and management capability including the use of system management and monitoring tools. Fully conversant with ITIL principles and a thorough working knowledge of Incident, Change & Problem Management.
