Overview
Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Woodland View Hospital, Irvine. This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
* Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance tasks (e.g. AHUs, calorifiers, heat stations, medical gases, pressure systems, legionella control).
* Diagnose and repair faults across a wide range of building services and equipment.
* Participate in minor installation projects and service improvements.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and Equans procedures (including SHTMs, L8, Pressure Systems Regulations 2000).
* Complete risk assessments, method statements, and permits-to-work.
* Participate in an on-call rota (currently 1 in 4) to ensure 24/7 emergency cover at Woodland View Hospital.
* Travel to other NHS sites on occasion, based on operational needs.
* Liaise professionally with NHS clients and represent Equans to a high standard.
* Maintain workshop and storage areas in a clean and safe condition.

Who are you?
* Recognised mechanical/plumbing apprenticeship (essential).
* Sound knowledge of mechanical building services and fault diagnosis.
* Comfortable working within a hospital or healthcare environment (desirable).
* Ability to interpret technical manuals and complete detailed documentation.
* Good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
* Strong team ethic and flexible approach to support business needs.
* Willingness to undertake further training and obtain AP (Authorised Person) status (financial uplift provided for AP duties).
* Due to the nature of the contract you must be able to obtain and maintain a PVG Disclosure Scotland.
