Quality Engineer, Exeter Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer within a leading manufacturer in the Exeter area. This role provides leadership and guidance across the organisation, acting as a change agent to drive process improvement and support operational excellence. The role would suit either a recent graduate, or an experienced professional.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess the effectiveness of business systems against customer and industry standards through internal audits and corrective/preventative action processes.
* Develop, maintain, and implement quality system procedures and work instructions in line with regulatory and customer requirements.
* Lead purchase order and specification reviews, including interpretation and translation of requirements to operational level.
* Act as a customer advocate, ensuring expectations are understood and met.
* Drive process improvement initiatives, including reduction of non-conformances and implementation of corrective actions.
* Ensure completion and submission of customer verification requirements (e.g., FAIR documentation).
* Carry out additional duties as required within the scope of the role.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Experience in Quality Engineering.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection, and engineering principles.
* Proven problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach.
* Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Good IT and computer skills.
