Design Manager – Job Description\n\nLocation: Office-based\n\nReports to: Senior Design Manager\n\nContract: Full-time\n\nOverview:\n\nWe are seeking a proactive Design Manager to take responsibility for project design coordination from concept through to site delivery. You will lead and manage internal and external design teams across one or more projects, ensuring information flows effectively and all design responsibilities are met.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Manage and coordinate the work of internal and external design consultants.\n\n * \n\n Facilitate strong communication between teams to ensure a clear flow of information.\n\n * \n\n Identify potential design risks early and resolve them before they impact the project.\n\n * \n\n Maintain control over design costs to ensure adherence to project budgets.\n\n * \n\n Prepare and manage integrated design programmes with stakeholder buy-in.\n\n * \n\n Create and maintain design deliverables schedules and responsibility matrices.\n\n * \n\n Stay up to date with BIM requirements and ensure compliance with current legislation.\n\nPre-Construction & Tender Support:\n\n * \n\n Review tender documents to understand client requirements.\n\n * \n\n Liaise with the supply chain to gather construction-related costs.\n\n * \n\n Review and verify project costs before tender submission.\n\n * \n\n Analyse contract documents to ensure all parties understand responsibilities.\n\n * \n\n Contribute to tender proposals, specifications, and pre-construction design planning.\n\nDaily Duties:\n\n * \n\n Chair and lead regular design team meetings.\n\n * \n\n Communicate with clients and design consultants to track progress.\n\n * \n\n Review and monitor incoming design information.\n\n * \n\n Address and resolve site-based design queries in a timely manner.\n\nAdditional Information:\n\nThis job description is not exhaustive and may include other duties as required in line with the role
