Responsibilities
* Investigate alleged breaches of planning control and gather evidence to decide if breaches have occurred.
* Carry out site visits.
* Assess compliance with permissions and enforcement notices.
* Maintain accurate records.
* Support enforcement action, including the preparation of formal notices.
* Assist with planning appeals (including public inquiries), undertake interviews under caution, and support court proceedings (including giving witness evidence).
* Liaise with landowners, developers, parish councils, and the public throughout the process, giving advice, gathering information, and communicating outcomes.
* Understand the importance of sustaining the future of the National Park’s landscape, built and cultural heritage, and its diverse natural environment.
Qualifications
* Proactive and detail-focused.
* Excellent communicator and negotiator with experience with people.
* Highly organised, able to manage a range of tasks and deadlines.
* Strong analytical ability.
* Ability to explain processes and decisions simply, clearly, and accurately in written reports and verbally.
* Experience of investigations within a regulatory or legislative framework desirable.
* Full UK driving licence essential.
