Your role
We are growing our Defence team, and the opportunities are huge. We work hand in hand with our clients to realise their goals and overcome their most complex challenges, working closely with the broader Capgemini group to support our clients holistically. We need people with strong consulting skills and expertise in areas such as strategy & innovation, P3M, agile & hybrid ways of working, business technology, analytics, and workforce & organisational transformation. As a consultant within the Defence team you will be delivery‑focused, building relationships, growing trust and delivering tangible improvements and benefits.
Our footprint across Defence is expanding—spanning the Military Strategic HQ, Front‑Line Commands, the NAD Group and the Defence Nuclear Enterprise. We are experiencing significant business growth, driven by Defence’s ambition to accelerate digital technologies such as sovereign cloud, agentic AI and process automation. As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities in the following categories:
* Business Development – leading and contributing to proposals, RFPs and bids, developing propositions, contributing to client pitches and hosting clients at events.
* Internal contribution – campaign development, internal think‑tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events and activities) and offering development.
* Learning & development – training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications, etc.
Your profile
* Have experience in the Defence sector, incl. the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Defence consultancies, and/or Defence suppliers.
* Have delivery experience within Defence programmes, e.g. capability acquisition, research & development, digital transformation, capability planning/strategy or in‑service support.
* Are self‑sufficient and autonomous, undertaking responsibilities with minimal oversight.
* Are willing to learn and evolve, applying yourself to tackle new problems.
* Are willing to work with a broad range of stakeholders, at a range of locations.
* Have a strong commitment to self‑development.
Desirable technical skills and experience
* Project, Programme & Portfolio Management (P3M) experience, including holding APM and MSP qualifications.
* HMT business case development, including operational analysis and options appraisal.
* Requirements management.
* User research, business analysis and Defence business change management.
* Defence approach to training development (incl. DSAT).
* Cyber & security assurance.
* Digital, data and technology (DDAT).
* Digital architecture.
* Warfare centre.
