Recruitment of Clinical Fellows / Post-DCTs in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Position: Clinical Fellows and Post-DCTs in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, NHS Tayside, Ninewells Hospital and Medical School. Fixed-term 12‑month contract commencing 6 August 2025.
Key responsibilities:
* Cover first on‑call during the day (1:5), at night (1:5) and the weekend (1:5). On‑call supplementation is provided and rest days will be apportioned as necessary.
* Be responsible for the continuing care of patients as designated by consultant staff.
* Perform regular ward rounds and provide care for in‑patients.
* Participate in outpatient clinics.
* Undertake minor oral surgical procedures with appropriate supervision.
* Attend theatre lists and assist with all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
* Participate in meaningful audit within the department.
* Carry out appropriate administrative duties to support clinical commitments.
* Develop enhanced clinical skills, especially in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.
* Demonstrate excellent team‑working skills and a professional attitude to work well in a multi‑professional team.
* Deliver clinical and quality targets agreed nationally and locally with clinical teams.
* Follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.
Eligibility and qualifications:
* Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and the General Dental Council (GDC), or both.
