Job Description:
As a Second Chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the high-quality meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Key Responsibilities:
1. Meal Preparation: Prepare, cook, and serve both hot and cold meals, taking into account the unique requirements and tastes of our residents.
2. Menu Planning: Collaborate with the Head Chef to design menus that strike a balance between nutrition and flavor, utilizing fresh and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
3. Kitchen Management: Take charge of day-to-day kitchen operations, overseeing the efficient production of food within budget while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of food supplies and monitor storage conditions to guarantee the quality and safety of our meals.
5. Stock Management: Ensure proper stock rotation, assist in ordering supplies, verify deliveries, and conduct inventory checks as necessary.
6. Health & Safety: Uphold statutory health and safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas, fostering a safe and hygienic environment for all.
7. Cleaning & Maintenance: Ensure all utensils and equipment are cleaned and stored properly, and oversee the overall maintenance of the kitchen and dining areas.
