About the Team
HF Scotland has grown into a multi site legal operation supporting the legal requirements of some of the UK’s leading insurers alongside a range of major commercial clients.
As the team continues to expand, there is an opportunity for ambitious Solicitors (0–5 PQE) to join a high performing defender insurance litigation practice with exposure to complex and varied legal work.
You will work alongside experienced Partners, including Law Society of Scotland Accredited Specialists in Personal Injury Law, within a collaborative and supportive team environment.
This is a Hybrid Role
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied caseload of pre litigated and litigated defender insurance matters
* Handle a range of insurance litigation work including counter fraud, personal injury, and motor claims
* Support employers liability and public liability litigation matters
* Assist with specialist claims including construction, product liability, and regulatory matters
* Work on cross border claims involving jurisdiction and choice of law issues
* Review evidence and prepare legal correspondence and pleadings
* Support Partners on complex and high value litigation matters
* Develop advocacy skills through hearings, debates, proofs, and court appearances where appropriate
* Ensure high standards of client service and file management throughout the litigation process
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this Litigation Solicitor – Defender Insurance Team role, you will need:
* Qualified Solicitor status with 0–5 years PQE
* Experience handling pre litigated or litigated defender matters
* Knowledge of personal injury claims and litigation procedures
* Experience within insurance litigation, defender litigation, or pursuer work is advantageous
* Ability to manage high volume caseloads and competing priorities
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and drafting ability
* A proactive and collaborative approach to legal work
* Ability to thrive within a fast paced legal environment
