We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Lead Data & Reporting Technical Business Analyst in our Transformation, Tech and Data team within the Asset Management function.

Location: This role could be based in either our Telford, London or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

Salary and benefits: £72,000-£85,000 depending on experience plus bonus, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

The role
We have two technical Business Analyst positions available within our Transformation, Tech and Data area, focusing on Capital Markets and Policyholder Investment Office. These roles are key to advancing our data maturity and supporting the development of the Phoenix Group Asset Management vision, especially in delivering a world-class data ecosystem.
For the Capital Markets position, the successful candidate will have extensive experience working with Front, Middle, and Back Office teams, with a good understanding of the trade lifecycle from both investment and operational perspectives. Attention to detail and collaboration with internal and external teams are crucial.
For the Policyholder Investment Office position, the candidate should have a strong background working with policyholder investment teams and understanding of the key components of a policyholder investment office from investment and operational viewpoints.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate business analysts in your team, ensuring adherence to ways of working and analysis activities in line with sprint plans.
* Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to elicit and update requirements.
* Facilitate discussions within multidisciplinary teams and support project management to assess progress.
* Create artefacts supporting agile workflows, such as user stories with acceptance criteria.
* Maintain quality stores of business knowledge (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint).
* Prioritize the backlog with the Scrum Master and support delivery within an agile framework.
* Identify risks, issues, and dependencies affecting delivery.
* Support the development of sustainable, viable change solutions aligned with Asset Management goals.
* Provide oversight and share knowledge within the team and wider community.
What are we looking for?
Essential:
* Experience in banking, pensions, finance, or asset management, especially in regulated environments.
* Experience with datasets related to policyholder investments, fund data, asset data, including derivatives.
* Experience working with investment teams to gather and interpret business and technical requirements.
* Understanding of data platforms, warehouses/lakes.
* Experience working in an agile environment from discovery to business readiness.
* Experience collaborating with third-party vendors and using Microsoft Office tools.
* Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools like Jira/Confluence.
* Experience with modern working practices (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, Test Automation).
* Understanding of Data Management/Governance and architecture concepts.
* Experience with analytics, reporting tools, and APIs.
* Proven expertise in business analysis within large IT estates.
Desirable:
* Membership of a professional body.
* Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or similar.
