This is a strategic senior appointment within the firm's Northern Midlands office - a location experiencing significant growth and offering a substantial existing pipeline of work across private wealth and agricultural matters. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strengthening the firm's offering to high-net-worth individuals, farming families, landed estates, and rural business owners across the region. Key Responsibilities: Client Work & Technical Expertise Advising agricultural and landowning clients on a full spectrum of private wealth matters, including: Estate and succession planning Wills, trusts, and tax planning Agricultural property structures Heritage property and family business succession Partnerships and farm-business arrangements Managing complex and sensitive client relationships with a high level of professionalism and discretion. Delivering technically robust, commercially sound advice tailored to the unique needs of rural and agricultural clients. Team Leadership & Practice Development Contributing to and helping lead the strategic development of the Private Wealth team within the region. Supporting, supervising, and mentoring junior fee-earners. Playing an active role in building a strong team culture within the office. Business Development & Growth Building and maintaining strong relationships within the agricultural sector, including professional referrers, rural networks, and key regional stakeholders. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in a region with an abundance of private wealth and agri-related legal work. Enhancing the firm's profile through thought leadership, networking, events, and sector-focused initiatives. Requirements Essential UK-qualified solicitor (strict requirement). Minimum 8 years' PQE for Partner-level consideration. Candidates with lower PQE may be considered for Senior Associate entry, with a clear progression route. Strong technical expertise in private client law, with demonstrable experience in agricultural or rural estate work. Proven ability to manage and develop client relationships at a senior level. Experience contributing to team leadership, supervision, or practice development. Commercial awareness and the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities. Desirable Existing following or strong referrer network within the agricultural or rural community. STEP or Agricultural Law Association membership (or willingness to work towards membership).
