Alstom is the UK & Ireland’s leading supplier of new trains and train services, and a leading signalling and rail infrastructure provider. The Opportunity
As a Service Staff Apprentice with Alstom, you will gain practical experience across various disciplines. Throughout the 3-year apprenticeship, you will work towards a Level 3 Engineering Fitter qualification. You will combine academic college studies with real-world work experience.
You will attend Derby College on block release to complete the academic coursework while gaining hands-on experience and learning from the company.
Key Duties:
* Carry out Mechanical and Electrical Modifications on Existing Rolling Stock
* Assemble, Validate, and Verify Components
* Perform Electrical Testing and Verification
* Carry out Riveting, Bonding, Sealing, Torque Tightening, Crimping
* Implement New Mechanical and Electrical Installations on Existing Rolling Stock
* Prepare Vehicles for Sale
* Understand and Execute EHS and Quality Requirements
Requirements of the role:
* You must hold (or be predicted to hold) a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English, Maths, and Science at Grades 5-9
* Good mechanical/electrical ability with an understanding of precision and accuracy
* Self-motivated with a commitment to achieving the apprenticeship
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and independently when needed
