Ashton Gate Stadium is a modern multi-purpose venue that serves as the home for both Bristol City Football Club and Bristol Bears. It plays a central role within the wider Bristol Sport group, supporting not only these teams but also Bristol Flyers and their associated community charities.
Outside of matchdays, Ashton Gate is a well-established venue for meetings, conferences, and private events. It offers a diverse selection of modern function rooms, making it suitable for everything from corporate conferences and exhibitions to weddings and social gatherings.
The Role
This is a hands‑on, varied accounts role supporting finance operations across the group, working closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day processing and control of core accounting activities.
The role offers excellent exposure across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, banking and cashflow, making it ideal for someone looking to develop their practical finance experience within, or for someone with experience of working in transactional finance and keen to join a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day responsibility for Accounts Payable across Ashton Gate, Bristol Sport and Bristol Flyers
* Raising purchase orders and performing three‑way matching
* Processing and accurately coding supplier invoices on the finance system
* Preparing daily bank reconciliations and resolving reconciling items
* Producing supplier payment runs and reconciling supplier statements
* Supporting the Accounts Receivable function, including weekly AR reporting and debt chasing
* Communicating debtor information to Finance and Commercial teams
* Processing employee expenses via Concur
* Preparing daily cashflow information and supporting weekly and monthly cashflow forecasting
Who We're Looking For
Bristol Sport is keen to appoint someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely work.
You'll ideally have:
* Strong Excel skills
* Good organisation and attention to detail
* The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
* A positive, team‑focused approach
Previous experience using a finance or accounting system is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
