This post is temporary until 10/08/2025.
Please note, as this post is part-time during term time, your salary will be pro-rata to hours and weeks worked.
If you start with the normal school session, an adjustment will be made to reduce your first pay, as you are not entitled to be paid for all holidays. Once this adjustment is completed, you will receive a twelfth of your annual salary thereafter.
You will receive an email from our payroll department before your first pay is due, advising you of the amount that will be deducted.
If you start on the first day of term, this adjustment will not apply to you.
Learning Assistants work collaboratively as part of the school team or a specialist educational service under the supervision of the Head Teacher or designated manager, to promote effective learning, teaching, personal development, health and well-being, and an atmosphere of achievement.
They support teachers by facilitating effective use of resources to enhance teaching and learning, and to raise attainment.
Learning Assistants contribute to raising achievement and assist in the supervision, safety, and care of pupils by supporting the learning process. They support pupils, including those with additional support needs arising from behavioral, learning, sensory, or physical impairments, or family circumstances.
They work with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in groups, in various settings, depending on the school's needs.

This position is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the PVG Scheme (Scotland) Act 2007. Note that if your salary exceeds £38,000 annually, you will bear the cost of the PVG application, deducted from your first paycheck.
