Are you passionate about helping young people succeed in the classroom? Tradewind is currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school, providing essential in‑class and small‑group support to students who require additional help with their learning.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to support students with a range of additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and make positive progress. This is a rewarding role where every day offers the chance to make a meaningful difference to a young person’s education.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing in‑class support to students, helping them engage with learning tasks
* Delivering small‑group or one‑to‑one interventions as directed by the SENCO
* Supporting students with special educational needs, including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties
* Helping students build confidence, self‑esteem, and independence
* Assisting teachers with classroom management and differentiated tasks
* Maintaining accurate records and supporting student support plans
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with young people in a school or support setting (SEN experience desirable)
* A caring, patient, and supportive approach
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
* Ability to follow teacher direction and work as part of a team
* Basic IT skills and good organisational ability
* A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
