About the Role
The Project Design Engineer role blends traditional project management and design engineering, managing projects through the outline and detailed design lifecycle with multidisciplinary teams. It offers a dynamic environment, opportunities for chartership and cross‑discipline expertise.

Responsibilities
* Work as part of a project triangle with a site manager and quantity surveyor to ensure technical, constructability and commercial aspects are considered.
* Lead the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from outline to hand‑over.
* Coordinate the project team including civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists to keep designs on programme, budget and quality standards.
* Undertake design work in your discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
* Build positive relationships with client project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a “one‑team” approach.
Qualifications
* Accredited degree in Civil, Mechanical, Process or Electrical Engineering.
* Member of an engineering institution.
* Experience in outline and detailed design of water or wastewater projects.
* Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
