You’ll be actively seeking ways to attract and interest the local community, creating opportunities for everyone to get involved. You’ll work together with your colleagues on site, devising and running a programme of activities. Through this programme, you’ll be connecting people to nature, boosting their wellbeing and inspiring them to care for the world around them. Some of these activities will be run by you and a team of volunteers, others by partner organisations with whom you’ve built up productive working relationships. You’ll get hands-on with developing and testing our plan of activities. And you will take the lead in putting the plan into practice: researching, testing and evaluating in your first year in the job to help deepen our understanding of what people want from us. Alongside our Volunteer and Community Officer, you’ll help build partnerships that are mutually beneficial, that will strengthen our connections and broaden our horizons. And you’ll look to create opportunities for individuals and businesses to join in with your plans as they develop. You may need to work the occasional weekends and evenings.
