Gaumont Ltd is looking for a Finance Assistant!
Are you a Finance or Accounts Assistant with at least 2 years’ experience, ideally within a TV, film or entertainment environment?
We are seeking a proficient and personable Finance Assistant who will report directly to the Financial Controller and play a crucial role in supporting the financial activities of Gaumont UK. The role has a wide range of responsibilities and will require someone who can work accurately and to tight deadlines.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and understanding of a UK scripted production company based in Soho, London.
Main responsibilities to include:
* Preparation of month end journals, month end audit files and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Assist in preparation of calculations, analysis and reports as requested by the FC
* Posting transactions in Xero in a timely and accurate fashion.
* Preparation of revenue invoices and supporting the FC in the correct recognition of revenue.
* Process and review of supplier invoices for payment as part of scheduled payment runs.
* Manage and maintain filing of supplier invoices
* Creation of new suppliers and vendors on the financial system.
* Checking and confirmation of new supplier bank details.
* Review of customer ageing and chasing of overdue collections.
* Processing employee expenses in accordance with Company policy.
* Importing and reviewing credit card statements to ensure correct documentation and they are within company policy.
* Prepare weekly payment lists to process payment runs through the bank.
* Coordinate and submit monthly VAT returns
* Managing the recharge process between Gaumont UK and SPVs
* Assist with year-end group and SPV audits by preparing documentation and supporting schedules.
* Assist with the half-year and year-end budgets
Qualifications/Requirements
* Must have some basic accounting qualifications (e.g., AAT level 4 or ACCA Applied Knowledge) or equivalent work experience of at least 2 years.
* Must have a high level of attention to detail and great organisational skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential as the role involves dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to be a team player with a conscientious and motivated attitude.
* Good working knowledge of Excel. Experience in Xero, Eclipse & Moneypenny desirable.
* Experience in film and television is desirable but not a requirement.
