Asset Management Systems Scientist
Maternity cover role based in Oxfordshire – Fully on site.

Job Summary
This opportunity is for a proactive individual to join the CTEC Oxford team, primarily in a metrology role, including equipment purchase (URS, validation plan), installation (IQ/OQ), validation (CSV), and overseeing servicing/calibration cycles (PM/PQ). Extensive experience working in a GxP environment and familiarity with a QMS are essential.
The role also involves lab-based analysis, including research and development and implementing in-house analytical methods. Experience with systems such as HPLC, UV-Vis, fluorimetry, and FTIR is required. The focus will be on in-house chemistries, including acidified nitrite and nitric-oxide analysis. Knowledge in method development, validation, SOP drafting, and technical documentation is necessary. Proficiency in metrology, asset management, and possibly SIFT-Mass Spectrometry is advantageous.
The position is based at our new offices/laboratory in Milton Park, Abingdon.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all equipment metrology for the Oxford department.
* Handle equipment purchase and installation processes.
* Organize system servicing, including vendor management.
* Perform GxP analytical testing as per protocols.
* Conduct research, method development, and troubleshooting for lab systems.
* Train new lab personnel.
* Draft and review protocols, SOPs, reports, and technical documents.
* Utilize eQMS systems in a GxP environment.
* Interpret data, process results, and generate graphical outputs.

* 3-5+ years of experience in metrology and analytical methodology development.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to multitask and collaborate.

Qualifications/Education:
* Preferably MSc or PhD in Chemistry or related fields.
Travel Requirements
No travel expected, occasional visits to GDC, North Wales may be necessary.
Working Conditions
* Lab environment with exposure to chemicals, reagents, solvents, and electronic equipment; manual handling involved.
