Opportunity Overview
Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer passionate about creating sustainable solutions? Join Stantec to help address urgent climate, environmental, and efficiency challenges in our communities. We are open to speaking with potential Principal Electrical Engineers to join our team in the South West and Midlands.
This role can be based in Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Derby, or Redditch, where you will enhance our reputation within the local community and Water Business by providing EICA design services for various projects.
Role Responsibilities
1. Work in multidisciplinary teams liaising with Project Managers, Design Managers, Design Engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, and stakeholders.
2. Participate in projects from optioneering and concept design to outline and detailed design, including feasibility studies, site surveys, and investigations.
3. Produce technical specifications, control philosophies, EICA schedules, drawings, reports, and develop multidisciplinary outputs such as GAs, 3D models, and P&ID diagrams.
4. Understand DSEAR requirements related to EICA design and installation (advantageous).
5. Deliver technical presentations and contribute to collaborative design discussions, workshops, HAZOPs, and ALMs.
6. Act as a leader and mentor to junior engineers.
Candidate Profile
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Chartered or Incorporated status preferred.
* Experience in writing technical specifications, control philosophies, and developing design solutions.
* Proficiency in producing Single Line Diagrams, Cable Diagrams, Network Diagrams, and supporting multidisciplinary outputs.
* Knowledge of DSEAR (preferred).
* Strong communication skills, capable of technical presentations and collaborative discussions.
* Experience in the Water sector is advantageous; experience in energy, infrastructure, or environmental sectors is also relevant.
* Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
