The company We are looking for an experiences "planning consultant" to join an independent planning consultancy in the Teignbridge region. Small in size but punching way above, they provide services to Developers, National Contractors, Local business and Land Owners. Their projects are varied and interesting, Residential to Commercial, Marine to Highways, Education and Care. They provide expert planning advice to these clients, promoting their land and development projects, and obtaining planning permissions. The practice also occasionally undertakes Environmental Impact Assessment work. They advise on whether or not projects are likely to obtain planning permission, submitting planning applications to local Councils and negotiate with them on their clients' behalf. They also submit appeals to The Planning Inspectorate. Their services are tailored for each commission - small or large - depending on their client’s requirements, the location, the characteristics of the site, the nature of the development, the applicable planning policies and local politics. Central to their work is planning risk management. The Role This is a varied and rewarding role where the successful "planning consultant" will work across a range of development projects, mainly in the residential and commercial sectors across South West England. You will take responsibility for the project management and delivery of up to 5 of the company’s planning-related commissions. The role would be supported by the company Director, in particular regard to project start-up, client relationship management, and review and sign-off of written deliverables. The role would also be supported by the company’s other staff as part of a collaborative team. Key duties will include: Researching site planning histories, environmental designations, planning policies, etc. Undertaking site visits across South West England. Performing day-to-day liaison with clients. Performing day-to-day liaison with project teams, e.g. architects, engineers, ecologists, etc. Performing day-to-day liaison with Local Planning Authorities and consultees. Making arrangements for project meetings and writing up notes of meetings if necessary. Compiling and reviewing drawings, reports, etc. received from clients and project teams. Writing Planning Appraisals, Planning Statements and other reports. Completing planning application forms, etc. Compiling and submitting planning applications. We are looking for an experienced "planning consultant" with 3-4 years experience to join their happy team. Ideally degree Qualified and from a consultancy, developer or Local Council background
