An exciting opportunity has arisen within maternity services for a Birth Reflections Co-ordinator.
The post holder will provide secretarial, administrational and information support for the maternity multi disciplinary debrief service, the maternity bereavement debrief services and the fetal medicine unit debrief services. The post holder will have a flexible approach, predominantly working on the Burnley site but with some cross site working across all ELHT sites, supporting working practices that provide a responsive service to our maternity service users.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing confidential, accurate and efficient clerical and administrative support under the supervision of the bereavement specialist midwife to the consultant midwife:
The post holder will require advanced keyboard skills to assist in providing full clerical/secretarial support including typing of letters, memos, minutes (taking notes), and other routine correspondence, which involves working to tight timescales and deadlines. Taking and making telephone calls, dealing with enquires, photocopying, and filing.
o Transcribe and type up outcome letters from the above mentioned meetings and distributing actions and any follow ups required.
o Retrieve and act upon correspondence received by e-mail/post from both internal and external sources (which is often of a highly sensitive and confidential nature) on behalf of health professionals ensuring that urgent correspondence receives prompt attention.
Receive and action tasks from the administration mailbox (emails).
o Receive, manage, and prioritise telephone and personal enquires, messages and information from patients, relatives, medical staff, and external organisations on behalf of the clinical team.
o Deal with enquiries relating to the medical and social welfare of maternity service users and relatives in a sensitive manner, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate.
o Respond to enquiries from maternity service users and healthcare personnel as appropriate.
o Manage maternity service users investigation results.
o Provide empathy and reassurance to maternity service users where necessary.
o When responding to enquires, ensure that relevant guidelines or protocols are followed.
