Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen for additional Clinical Support Workers to join the Emergency Department Team at Furness General Hospital. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and motivated individuals, ideally with acute care experience but this is not essential as training and support will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the RN.
* Operate within a shift system covering the Emergency Department and Minor Injury treatment hours (8 am – 9 pm).
* Provide nursing care across multiple hospital sites, including Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal.
Qualifications
* Enthusiastic, caring, and motivated with a commitment to providing high‑quality patient care.
* Desirable: prior experience in acute care settings.
* Willingness to undertake training and support where acute experience is lacking.
Work Locations
FGH in Barrow, RLI, WGH in Kendal, and associated community health care premises such as Millom Hospital, GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
