Role responsibilities
The Asset Standards Manager will lead and manage the development, implementation and monitoring of the standards framework across Asset Management for Transport for Wales (TfW).
* Manage the implementation and optimisation of the Standards and Deviations management process by acting as the point of contact for standards governance, liaising and coordinating with internal teams and the Infrastructure Manager (IM) (Amey Infrastructure Wales (AIW)) to ensure the Welsh Government investment is protected.
* Lead monthly and annual performance reviews and challenge of the Infrastructure Manager\\\'s Management of Standards Procedure, by checking alignment with the Strategic Asset Management Plan and the Risk Based Management Framework and identify opportunities for improvement, to ensure the services are delivered in-line with the obligations of the Infrastructure Agreement and Compliant to Standards.
* Develop a strategy for creating TfW standards for the CVL and wider TfW asset portfolio by using a risk-based management approach to amend existing and/or develop bespoke standards for heavy and light rail to ensure they meet the needs of TfW and deliver the Welsh Government Transport Strategy.
* Manage the deployment of the agreed TfW standards strategy by developing the necessary process and procedures to deliver the strategy objectives.

Who we\\\'re looking for
* Degree level qualification in engineering, business management, Law, other relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
* Experience in an Asset Management, Standards Management or Compliance role.
* Experience in developing and supporting management and control systems.
* A good understanding of managing safety critical infrastructure in an asset-rich, regulated environment.

Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
