Consultant Psychiatrist - Acute Hospital Liaison, Swindon

Liaison Consultants – Full time, 10 PA Adult (Working Age) and 6 PA Older Adult. We are seeking two Consultant to join our Acute Hospital Liaison Service in Swindon. These posts are based within the Mental Health Unit at the Victoria Centre on the Great Western Hospital site.
You’ll join a forward‑thinking Trust with a well‑established multidisciplinary team that has good links to community and crisis services. We offer a leadership development programme designed to support you in three core areas: self‑as‑a‑leader, leading teams, and leading change and transition.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide diagnostic and treatment advice for patients attending Great Western Hospital (GWH).
* Support the wider team for patients arriving at GWH.
* Serve as a clinical leader with key roles in service improvement and development alongside the team manager.
* Deliver teaching and training for general hospital staff.
* Attend the daily multi‑disciplinary team (MDT) meeting in the morning, triage referrals and see patients where appropriate.
* Manage an average of three to four face‑to‑face patient contacts on a daily basis.
Qualifications and Experience
* Applications are welcomed from general adult, dual‑trained, or older‑adult backgrounds.
* Flexibility in the number of sessions is required to meet service needs.
* Experience with acute hospital liaison services and managing weekly referrals (around 30) is desirable.
* Ability to provide service improvement and development in a multidisciplinary setting.
