About Flux
Flux Syndicate started writing business on 1 January 2023. It is sponsored by Acrisure, the world's fastest growing insurance group, and was set up to give capital providers direct access to the Acrisure distribution network.
Flux has had a strong first two years of operation, exceeding premium targets of £107m and £143m in years one and two respectively as well as projecting a profit across both years of account. Due to performance in the first two years, the Syndicate has increased the premium target in year three to £250m with planned growth to reach just under £1bn in the coming years driven by US SME business. The majority of business will be Casualty business (50%), Specialty business (20%), Property business (15%) and Financial and Professional Lines (15%).
Flux operates a lean structure and outsources back-office responsibilities to a turn-key provider (Asta).
About The Team And The Role
A unique opportunity to make your mark on a Lloyd's Syndicate whilst it is in its rapid growth phase. Opportunities to influence how the Syndicate will operate by establishing best practices and processes that will form the foundations for growth. Make an immediate impact to the syndicate by becoming involved with tasks and projects that have a real bearing on the Syndicate.
How You'll Contribute
Working alongside the Acrisure IT department, be responsible for all development projects at the Syndicate. Work closely with the Pricing and Analytics team and Syndicate Manager to finish build out of integrated pricing, underwriting and portfolio management tool ‘FLUID'
Help design and implement the longer-term project of creation of Data Warehouse / Lakehouse to store current Syndicate data and be able to enrich further by leveraging external data sources such as S&P company data, the Lloyd's Insights Hub
The successful candidate will work closely with Chief Underwriting Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Syndicate Manager, and other experienced market professionals in a role that touches all facets of the business.
Requirements
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team at Flux. To be successful in this role you will need:
* Reinsurance/insurance/financial services industry background (preferred)
* Experience with front end frameworks e.g. React
* Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
* Experience of Power BI / other data visualisation tools
* Excellent communication
* Analytical mindset with ability to problem solve and think creatively
* Makes good judgements

* Ability to work accurately at pace on multiple different tasks
