Are you looking for a rewarding role working with members of the public at key moments in their lives?
We are looking for ceremony ushers to undertake the duties of being first point of contact ushering marriage, civil partnership and British citizenship ceremonies at our ceremony rooms at Solihull Register Office and Solihull Civic Suite.
As a Ceremony Usher you will be responsible for:
* Managing the foyer welcome area in an efficient and professional manner and setting up the ceremony rooms prior to ceremonies
* Meeting and greeting all guests attending ceremonies.
* Identifying and guiding our brides, grooms, civil partners, and guests as appropriate.
* Working in partnership with registrars to ensure pre–ceremony interviews, registrations and ceremonies start on time.
* Operating the car parking barrier and controlling parking in accordance with set guidelines.
* Ensuring guests are correctly seated in a timely manner.
* Guiding and supporting brides, grooms, civil partners, and key guests to ensure smooth entry in to and out of ceremonies.
* Unlocking and locking the public doors and ensuring all members of the public are out of the building between and after ceremonies.
* Meeting agreed customer service standards.
* Providing cover for colleagues as required, which may include extra working hours.
* Seeking customer feedback.
You will have experience of delivering high quality customer service as well as:
* The ability and confidence to manage and coordinate large groups of people.
* Be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
* Be able to deal with sensitive and difficult situations.
* Be able to work with minimal supervision and to plan effectively.
* Be the welcoming face for our couples and their guests.
The hours are annualised, working 50 hours over a 12-month period mostly on Saturdays and the occasional, bank holidays on a rota basis.
