Fantastic opportunity for an established Finance professional to join a growing business on a part time basis. The business is looking for somebody with hands-on experience in a similar role, A-Z finance knowledge and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
Overview
The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing our accounting operations,
maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory
standards. The remit will include cashflow management and planning, creation of
monthly management accounts and supervision of finance teams.
Responsibilities
• Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate management reports to provide
clear insight into the company's financial position.
• Cash Flow Management: Oversee daily cash input / output and forecasting to
ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs. To include invoice
financing transactions where necessary.
• Manage HMRC liabilities, VAT returns and payments.
• Suppliers: Negotiate credit limits, manage payments to terms.
• Customers: Manage aged debt and credit control.
• Payroll: Manage payroll calculations and submission to external agency.
• Subcontractors: Manage timely CIS returns and verification of entities.
• Fixed Assets: Manage/maintain register and associated depreciation journals.
• Insurance: Manage company insurance policies, claims and compliance.
• Fleet: Oversee taxation, insurance and breakdown cover requirements.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Maintain budget v actual reports and provide
variance analysis to ensure that the business is aligned with its financial goals
and objectives.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes
and systems to drive efficiency and accuracy.
• Stakeholder Communication: Present financial information to senior
management, board members, and external stakeholders in a clear, concise,
and compelling manner.
The Candidate
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible
experience in accounting or finance.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles; proficiency with
SAGE 50 accounting software; advanced MS Excel skills.
• Language: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of
conveying financial concepts to non-financial personnel.
