The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This role is ideal for a QS with experience in rail or civil engineering who is looking to take the next step in their career with a leading infrastructure contractor. You will have the opportunity to grow and develop your career with the goal of stepping into a Senior QS role.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently and within budget. You will play a key role in cost control, procurement, and contract administration, working within NEC contracts and framework agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the commercial management of rail and civil engineering projects.
* Support the administration of contracts in line with NEC contract principles.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial control.
* Assist with cost planning, forecasting, and reporting.
* Manage subcontractor accounts, procurement, and payments.
* Work within framework agreements to optimise project efficiency.
* Use client and contractor portals to manage documentation and communication.
* Contribute to the development of junior team members where required.
About You:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a contractor environment.
* Background in rail or civil engineering is highly desirable.
* Understanding of NEC contracts and framework agreements.
* Ability to work independently while supporting senior commercial staff.
* Familiarity with digital portals and contract management tools.
* Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
