We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in Walsall to appoint an experienced Housing and Welfare Officer to join their Homeless Prevention Services Team. Role Overview: Within this role, you'll provide professional, customer-focused homelessness and housing solutions, prioritising prevention and relief. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive and high quality, customer focused housing options service to applicants. Conduct assessments, evaluating evidence and make decisions in accordance with legislation. Negotiate with landlords, parents and other agencies, both statutory and non-statutory to find the best solutions to customers housing & support needs. Determine a customer's need for emergency temporary accommodation and arrange suitable placements. Manage a caseload and maintain accurate case records to ensure excellent customer service.
