JOB DESCRIPTIONJob ID: 21178Position - Welding SupervisorLocation - Wilton, Redcar Project -Shutdown Duration - 4 Weeks Start - 15th September 2025RESPONSIBILITIESKey ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate all welding activities during the shutdown periodEnsure compliance with industry standards including BS EN ISO 9606, ASME, and API codesManage and mentor a team of coded welders across multiple disciplines (TIG, MIG, MMA, pipe welding)Conduct pre-work briefings and toolbox talks with welding crewsReview and approve welding procedures (WPS) and ensure adherence to project specificationsCoordinate with NDT personnel for inspection scheduling and quality controlMaintain accurate records of welding activities, materials, and consumablesLiaise with project management, safety teams, and client representativesEnsure all work is completed to agreed timescales and quality standardsImplement and maintain highest safety standardsQUALIFICATIONSEssential RequirementsCurrent welding qualifications (coded welder certification preferred)IWE (International Welding Engineer) or equivalent qualificationStrong knowledge of welding procedures for carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materialsExperience with pressure vessel and piping systemsExcellent understanding of UK health and safety regulationsCCNSG Safety Passport or equivalentStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced shutdown environmentABOUT USWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
