Milk Education is working in partnership with welcoming and well-established nursery settings across South Shields to recruit passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support children aged 0–5 years in line with the EYFS framework

2. Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities

3. Promote learning through play and structured experiences

4. Observe, assess, and record children’s progress

5. Support personal care routines including feeding and toileting

6. Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment

7. Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues

8. Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times

Essential Requirements

9. Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years (or equivalent)

10. Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting

11. Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework

12. Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures

13. A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach

14. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

15. Paediatric First Aid qualification

16. Experience supporting children with additional needs

17. Confidence in planning activities and completing observations
