Vacancy Description
To assist Nursery Nurses and senior nursery nurses in the nursery using the EYFS to plan and ensure variety and diversity to maintain the children's interest and to ensure development of the children.
1. To undertake training via NVQ Provider and in-house and to ensure you quickly become fully conversant with the Nursery Safeguarding Policy and Prevent Duty.
2. To assist in providing high-quality childcare and education for all children.
3. To assist in providing a safe environment by being aware at all times of the dangers and appropriate preventative measures.
4. To implement systems of observation record keeping and assessment.
5. To liaise closely with parents/carers informing them about the nursery curriculum, exchange information about the child's progress and encourage parents' involvement.
6. To liaise with other members of staff to ensure a smooth transition of children from one room to the next.
7. To continue to implement all the nursery policies and procedures.
8. To attend in-service training where appropriate and to attend staff meetings when required.
9. To assist in maintaining the cleanliness and serviceability of equipment, toys and books etc. in the nursery.
10. Assist in the supervision of meal times, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness at all times.
11. To communicate regularly with the Nursery Manager/ Deputy Manager.
12. Whilst working towards your qualification to keep and ensure all targets are met, up to date with all targets set by your assessor or the Education manager.
13. To ensure that a good example is set at all times in the way that the children are spoken to and the words that are used and that the pronunciation is correct (i.e. no slang to be used at any time).
14. To maintain confidentiality at all times.
15. Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the duties and responsibilities of the post as defined, subject to the provision that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms.
