Join our team as a key member of our Clinical Document Assessment Team, where you’ll play a vital role in keeping patients safe and supporting clinicians to deliver high‑quality care. Your main responsibility will be triaging incoming patient clinical documentation - reviewing reports and summaries, deciding what action is needed, and making sure urgent items reach the right clinician quickly. You’ll help keep patient records accurate and up to date by coding, summarising, and uploading information into EMIS, and you’ll support essential admin processes. This role is perfect for someone with a medical background who’s detail‑driven, organised, and enjoys work that directly contributes to better patient care behind the scenes. If you’re methodical, confident in handling clinical correspondence, and ready to be the person who keeps information flowing safely and efficiently - you’ll thrive here. You'll be doing things like: Reviewing and triaging incoming clinical documents — including hospital letters, blood results, discharge summaries, and consultant reports — and deciding what action is needed. Routing information to the right clinician (GP, pharmacist, nurse, etc.) based on urgency, risk, and clinical protocols. Coding and summarising key clinical information into EMIS to keep patient records accurate and up to date. Spotting urgent or safety‑critical information and escalating it quickly to ensure no important clinical actions are missed. Supporting clinicians by reducing their administrative workload, allowing them to focus on direct patient care. Managing workflow queues, keeping on top of backlogs, and helping maintain safe turnaround times. Constantly working towards personal and team KPIs relating to workload You’ll thrive here if you: Want to be part of a supportive team where what you do behind the scenes has a real, meaningful impact on patient care. Enjoy work that’s detailed, focused, and genuinely makes a difference to patient safety and clinical care. Love spotting patterns, picking out important information, and making quick, accurate decisions. Take pride in being organised, structured, and consistent, especially when handling large volumes of clinical documents. Feel confident working with clinical terminology and can follow clear protocols with accuracy. Are motivated by helping clinicians do their best work by taking admin pressure off their day. Can balance speed with precision - getting through the workload while keeping patient safety front and centre. Stay calm under pressure and enjoy bringing order to busy workflows or backlogs. Communicate clearly and work well with others, especially when escalating urgent information or clarifying actions. Take ownership of your work, ask the right questions, and are proactive about solving problems. More Information Please view the complete job spec for this role here
