Team: Care Experienced People, North & Mid Devon

We have an exciting opportunity to become a Team Manager for our Care Experienced People Service, in North and Mid Devon. About the role

As a Team Manager for our Care Experienced People service, you will be leading your team of skilled Personal Advisors in building long term relationships with children and young people.

You will have a sound knowledge of the legislation and regulations surrounding children in care and care experienced young people, and you will be responsible for ensuring your team apply these and produce quality work, resulting in positive impacts on the children and young people they have responsibility for.

The work includes occasional Court Work, linked to achieving permanence for our children and young people. The role also involves managing adolescent risk and a good understanding of contextual safeguarding is desirable.

About You

We are looking for someone with significant experience of evidence-based practice with children and families, including in the corporate parenting space, and the expertise and approach to effectively supervise and manage social workers and other social care practitioners.

You will be relentless in your focus on the child and uncompromising as a corporate parent. You will demonstrate and role model restorative practice principles and will be passionate about relationship-based social work and proud of your profession.

You will be a team player with the ability to work independently to demanding standards and deadlines whilst remaining able to reflect and think creatively about how you can lead and support your social work teams to build relationships that make a difference to the children and families of Devon.

As well as providing a pivotal role in the nurture, development and support of care experienced young people, you will also have a continuous focus on learning and development opportunities for your staff.

You will need to be a Registered Social Worker with Social Work England, with experience in statutory social work with children and families. The ability to engage and communicate with other professionals is essential.
