Job Title: HOTEL ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Location: HARROW

Position Type: Full-Time

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hotel Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's accounts functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail, as well as experience with various accounting software. All applicants MUST HAVE HOTEL ACCOUNTS EXPERIENCE.

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Hotel Accounts Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in hotel accounting, a strong understanding of hotel operations, and the ability to support financial control while contributing to overall business effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

* Accounts Receivable (AR): Assist with AR processes, including cross-estate billing and query resolution.
* Accounts Payable (AP): Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes, and manage supplier queries.
* Income Audit: Perform daily reconciliation of PMS income against actual takings.
* Month-End Support: Assist with month-end close processes and journal postings.
* Reconciliations: Prepare reconciliations of bank accounts and key control accounts.
* Payroll Control: Support strict controls over payroll management, including monitoring labor costs, payroll forecasting, and ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.
* Operational Effectiveness: Partner with department heads to drive financial performance and operational efficiency, particularly within food and beverage.
* Internal Controls: Maintain financial controls and reporting procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
* Analysis & Reporting: Deliver regular financial analysis and actionable insights to support senior management decision-making.
* Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with operational teams to implement cost-control initiatives, optimize financial performance, and enhance profitability.

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience in hotel accounting and financial reporting (essential).
* Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* In-depth knowledge of hotel operations, with a strong understanding of food & beverage, supply chain management, and cost control.
* Hands-on experience with OPERA PMS and SAGE accounting systems.
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and self-discipline.
* Detail-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial reporting.
* Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Familiarity with financial services and accounts payable processes is advantageous.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with guests and team members.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications:

* Qualification in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
* CPA or similar professional financial certification is a plus.
* Experience working remotely or in a virtual team environment
