About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial records, double-entry bookkeeping, and accounting principles. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain accurate financial records using double-entry bookkeeping principles.
2. Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
3. Reconcile bank statements and ensure all records are consistent and error-free.
4. Prepare VAT returns and assist with year-end accounts.
5. Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
6. Generate financial reports (e.g., profit & loss statements, balance sheets).
7. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and team members to resolve queries.
8. Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and company policies.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
2. Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
3. Familiarity with VAT, payroll processing, and basic tax regulations.
4. Excellent numerical skills and high attention to detail.
5. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
6. Strong communication and organisational skills.
7. AAT/IAB qualification or Bachelor's in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
