Are you ready to wear multiple hats and make a big impact? We're seeking a proactive and hands-on HSE & Digital/Systems Improvement Manager to join our team at British Gypsum in Sherburn.
This key role covers several critical areas – health, safety & environmental initiatives, digital transformation, and business systems – so no two days will be the same.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead Safety Culture: Drive our zero-harm mindset, oversee safety reporting, and keep our systems and metrics current.
* Environmental Support: Collaborate with the Environment Agency, manage site permits, ensure legal compliance, and investigate breaches with corrective actions.
* Integrated Management Systems (IMS): Maintain our IMS and prepare for external audits (BSI), ensuring systems and documentation are always audit-ready.
* Drive Digital Transformation: Contribute to our Digital 4.0 roadmap by digitising management systems and implementing smarter solutions.
* Support Sustainability Goals: Assist in leading sustainability efforts by managing the plant’s environmental impacts.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in a manufacturing environment
* Familiarity with BSI standards, audits, and compliance systems
* Knowledge of health & safety reporting – NEBOSH qualification preferred
* Strong communication skills, capable of liaising across teams and with external regulators
* Passionate about systems, continuous improvement, and digital innovation
